Here we take a pictorial look back at some of the events we have managed this year.
Coral Star Christmas Craft Fair
Our final Craft Fair of 2012, Art and Crafts, Mulled Wine and Mince Pies and Carols from the Zingers added to the festive atmosphere.
Thanks to everyone who came to the wedding fair at the Aloe Hotel and of course to all the exhibitors who took part. A special thank you to Sophis Chambiaouridou and her models for the superb fashion show. It takes a lot of organising and Sophie and the girls did a brilliant job. Hope you like the pictures
The annual Elea Christmas Craft Fair took place on Sunday 2nd December at Elea Golf Club Club with 50 stall holders displaying a wide range of products including candles, books, jewellery, sweets, ceramics, traditional crafts and toys.
The children at the fair were surprised when Santa Claus made a flying visit and brought them all a present donated by Paphos based Partymania. Entertainment was provided through the afternoon with performances by the Young Stars Theatre School, Sophis Chambiaouridou Dancers and singing and dancing by the Alison Roumeliotis group including the Paphos Warriors Cheerleaders.
Wet organised a charity raffle which raised €525 for the Friends Hospice and were delighted with the number of visitors who contributed. They said ‘it was a great event and the hundreds of visitors made a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. We are again delighted to be able to hand over such a large sum to the charity’
The Murder Mystery was solved (by a few) and the Red and Black Ball at Elea was a lovely evening. So good to see so many friends again and thanks to Chef John and his team for another excellent meal. Also a big thank you to Geoff and his thespian friends who kept us all guessing as to ‘Who did it’. Really enjoyed it and thanks to everyone who helped and to all who came. I think AJ Vickers is a really good singer and entertainer so well done AJ! Must do it again.
The annual Kamares Christmas Craft Fair took place on Saturday 17th November at Kamares Club, near Tala, Paphos. There were 50 stall holders displaying their home made and imported products including candles, books, jewellery, cakes, sweets, ceramics, art works and toys.
Organisers In Any Event arranged a surprise visit from Santa Claus for the children with Paphos based Partymania donating gifts for those who met him. Entertainment was provided by the Paphos Zingers and the Young Stars Theatre School. As with all their events a charity raffle took place along with the CalenDare Girls and raised €810 for Cancer Patients Support Group.
The Inner Wheel Soroptomist cake stall raised €750 and Kivotos Foundation also had a stand and raised €75 for their charity.
Our second wine trip of the year with sixty people who were up for some fun, Bob Clarkson entertaining and a top class BBQ thanks to Jim Sweeney and Gary Evans made it perfect. A small selection of photographs for those who need reminding they were there and for everyone else to enjoy. I have no doubt we will be doing it again so watch this space. Thanks to Angelos at Tsangarides for his hospitality and to everyone for coming along and making the day very special. Just great fun with great people who made the day what it was. You will understand from the picture that is wasn’t a quiet affair!
Had a great evening on Saturday at Elea Golf Club, Paphos, Cyprus. John Conteh was the star guest for the charity evening and had us all rolling around laughing. Well done to all those involved with iConnect Cyprus for organising a great event.
Paphos based business networking group ‘iConnect-Cyprus’ have just staged the first of the annual Celebrity Golf Days and Gala Dinners at Elea Golf Club. Organised by ‘In any event’, the two day event was a great success and the charity auction which took place on the Saturday raised €2,250 for local charities, Cancer Patients Support Group and St Michaels Hospice. The celebrity guest, who flew in especially for the event was former World Light Heavyweight Boxing Champion John Conteh.
The event started on the Friday with 84 golfers playing in teams of four challenging to win the prestigious iConnect-Cyprus Golf Tournament Trophy. Overall winners were the British Airways Team, represented by Dorothy and David Hudson and Olav and Anne Lise Stang.
The Gala dinner was held on the Saturday evening and was attended by 160 people. The setting, outside on the terrace, was perfect and Elea provided a superb international buffet, which was followed by a superbly amusing after dinner speech from ‘Mr John Conteh’. His quick wit, anecdotes and stories had everyone laughing and this coupled with the Limassol based band N-Tyme offered a superb evening of entertainment.
John, not one to sit still or quietly, assisted with the charity auction and gave a performance which will be remembered for many years.
Tsangarides Winery Trip
A great day out, arrived 1-45 and left 7-30. There are more photo’s but it gives you an idea.
The 2nd Royal Ascot Race Day at Elea Golf Club on Saturday 23rd June proved a big success for us and the 150 ‘race goers’ who attended. The club was transformed for a day at the races and ladies dressed to thrill, many with superb hats in true Ascot Style. Niki Charalambous from X Pose donated a prize for the lady with the best hat of the day.
The afternoon commenced at 3pm with Pimms on the terrace followed by a sumptuous buffet, platters of cheese and biscuits, traditional strawberries and cream with Champagne to round off the perfect Ascot atmosphere.
The Queens Jubilee Celebration Party at DT’s Bar went fantastically well and fortunately our weather was much better than that in London. We had one hundred people there to join in the celebrations and most were dressed in red, white and blue, union jacks and a variety and brilliant outfits to make a real party atmosphere. Excellent food as always and the staff are terrific so we couldn’t have asked for more. Bob Clarkson provided the entertainment including a few sing a long numbers and the party just kept going!
Thanks to everyone who helped and all the guests who made it such a cracking day. Some photographs to enjoy.
The Kamares Festival on Saturday 26th May raised almost twelve hundred Euros for local charities!! We had over 40 stands including arts and crafts and local wineries as well as charity games and the Paphos Classic Vehicle Club exhibited th…eir collection of classic cars.
It was a busy day with a Tennis Tournament, Aqua Zumba class and performances from the Paphos Zingers, Spotlight Dance Studio, classical vocalist Tina Chester and Bulgaria pop idol Ivan Angelove to entertain us. We supported four local charities, St Michael’s Hospice, Cancer Patients Support, Inner Wheel and Margarita Liasidou Foundation and it was sponsored by AKME Securitas, Sumner Holdings and Rock FM.
In total we raised just under twelve hundred Euros for the charities which we are extremely pleased about. It was a great day and thanks everyone for their support and donations which helped us to raise that much needed money. There are loads of photos if you want to take a look.
We had a great evening on Saturday 21st April at Kamares Club when Tina Chester entertained us with a selection of classical and songs from the shows. Again Tina showed what a fabulous singer she is and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. She even managed to add a couple of more modern songs which prompted a few people to get up and dance.
The standard of food at Kamares was excellent as was the service and thanks to Christos and Eleni for all their help. We will no doubt be adding some dates with Tina and I hope everyone can come along and enjoy a very special talent which is quite unique here in Cyprus. See the photos section for images from the evening.
Our Easter Bazaar at the Angelika Restaurant was a great day and we raised 320 Euros for the Paphiakos & CCP Animal Welfare! Almost 40 stalls and loads of visitors as well as performances from the Paphos Zingers and the Thompson Scool of Dance. A big thank you to our Easter Bunny who organised the easter egg hunt which the children loved. Well, there was chocolate at stake!! Thanks to everyone who came, to those who donated prizes for the charity raffle and to Yianis at Angelika who was so helpful. We hand the money to the Charity on Wednesday.
The Classics and Songs from the Shows Evening at Elea was a great success with all tickets sold. Not surprising really as Tina Chester is a great vocalist and delivered exactly what we expected, a brilliant range of songs and professionally done as always.
Chef John Morphou delivered an excellent meal and the service was 5 star as always. Judging by the feedback I am sure we will have to do this again so thanks to everyone for the positive response and this album is a small selection of the photographs which Chris took. Also thanks to Eamon Brooks for his shots. A great evening.
The health & Wellbeing Festival at the Akteon Village, St George, Paphos was a great success. We had a wide range of stands and there were talks and lectures throughout the day on a variety of subjects. The Festival raised a great deal of interest from the general public with some traveling from as far As Limassol to visit the event. As an added bonus we raised €250 fro the St Michael’s Hospice.
Our Vicars & Tarts Party turned out to be a fantastic evening with everyone dressed for the occassion. There were a couple of people dressed so well that we didn’t recognise them until they spoke! As always the atmosphere was great, plenty of food and drink and excellent music from our Vicar DJ. I think this will be repeated later in the year and it was a great way to forget the horrible weather. Pictures speak a thousand words so no need to say any more just check out the photo’s!
