Classical Night

We had a great evening on Saturday 21st April at Kamares Club when Tina Chester entertained us with a selection of classical and songs from the shows. Again Tina showed what a fabulous singer she is and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. She even managed to add a couple of more modern songs which prompted a few people to get up and dance.

The standard of food at Kamares was excellent as was the service and thanks to Christos and Eleni for all their help. We will no doubt be adding some dates with Tina and I hope everyone can come along and enjoy a very special talent which is quite unique here in Cyprus. See the photos section for images from the evening.

Easter Bazaar

Our Easter Bazaar at the Angelika Restaurant was a great day and we raised 320 Euros for the Paphiakos & CCP Animal Welfare! Almost 40 stalls and loads of visitors as well as performances from the Paphos Zingers and the Thompson Scool of Dance. A big thank you to our Easter Bunny who organised the easter egg hunt which the children loved. Well, there was chocolate at stake!! Thanks to everyone who came, to those who donated prizes for the charity raffle and to Yianis at Angelika who was so helpful. We hand the money to the Charity on Wednesday.

The Classics and Songs from the Shows Evening

The Classics and Songs from the Shows Evening at Elea was a great success with all tickets sold. Not surprising really as Tina Chester is a great vocalist and delivered exactly what we expected, a brilliant range of songs and professionally done as always.

Chef John Morphou delivered an excellent meal and the service was 5 star as always. Judging by the feedback I am sure we will have to do this again so thanks to everyone for the positive response and this album is a small selection of the photographs which Chris took. Also thanks to Eamon Brooks for his shots. A great evening.

As always the atmosphere was great, plenty of food and drink and excellent music from our Vicar DJ. I think this will be repeated later in the year and it was a great way to forget the horrible weather. Pictures speak a thousand words so no need to say any more just check out the photo’s!

A SUCCESSFUL DAY FOR ALL AT THE PAPHOS WEDDING FAIR

In Any Event’s second Wedding Fair at the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort at Coral Bay on Sunday 30th October proved to be a big success with exhibitors and visitors alike. ‘Weddings are such an important event and we managed to bring together some of the best wedding specialists in Cyprus to showcase their products. The visitor numbers prove how popular the event has become and we are delighted with the feedback we have received. The stands were amazing and everyone had a busy but enjoyable day with one lucky person, Maria Theofanous, wining a 500 Euro diamond voucher donated by Kimberley Diamonds.’

School’s Out

Our Schools’ Out Night at DT’S was another great success. Everyone dressed for school which made a fantastic party atmosphere. The Chef prepared a meal which was 100 times better than a school dinner, loads of fun games and then dancing to end the evening. It was great fun and maybe this will become an annual event. Everyone wanted to know when the next one will be so I guess we just might have to do it all again!!

“I’d like to take this opportunity to say WELL DONE!, we all had a FANTASTIC time at “Ascot”, you did so well with your organising and staging a great event and everyone clearly enjoyed the day!, we loved The Royal Wedding and Ascot was even better!, congratulations to all involved.”
Eileen Leck

We decided to have a Royal Ascot Ladies Day here in Cyprus and thought Elea Golf Club was the place to do it. Brilliant day with Pimms and canapés on arrival, superb buffet lunch, strawberries and champagne, jazz band and a tote to accompany the live racing on the big screen direct from Royal Ascot! When the racing was over the dancing started. Over 140 people came and it was a great day out with the ladies dressed to thrill. We have never seen so many hats in Cyprus but a good excuse to get dressed up Ascot style!! . Next year? Of course.

The Dance Collection

Acclaimed Norwegian artist Frode Sandal held an exhibition of his latest works at The Gallery Restaurant, Tala. The new pieces, called ‘The Dance Collection’ were accompanied by some of his other individually selected works. Organised by ‘In Any Event’ the exhibition opens with the artist on site to discuss the new collection with visitors and the media.

Oslo born Frode has sold his work throughout Scandinavia, mainland Europe and America but this was his first exhibition in Cyprus. Such is his talent that during his early years lecturers actually bought and commissioned his work. Although equally at home with sculpting he has for the past five years concentrated on experimenting with paints but now mainly uses acrylic.

PAPHOS WEDDING FAIR – A GREAT SUCCESS

The Wedding Fair at the Leptos Calypso Coral Beach Hotel and Resort at Coral Bay on Sunday 27th February proved to be a big success. The Fair, brought wedding companies and associated businesses together to showcase their products and services and meet potential clients and Brides to Be.

A wide range of exhibitors included beauticians, hairdressers, car hire companies, entertainers, florists, jewellers, photographers, cakes and of course bridal wear. The day concluded with a superb fashion show in the main hall with most of the exhibitors contributing to the forty five minute event in which local girls modelled the dresses.

Beverley Houghton-Brown and Anita Hopkins said ‘The Coral Beach Hotel is an excellent venue for a Wedding Fair and, of course, a wedding. Weddings are such an important event, particularly here in Cyprus so it seemed fitting to choose the hotel as they have such experience in hosting major events. The feedback from the exhibitors and visitors has been very positive and we are now negotiating for a second Fair, hopefully towards the end of this year or early next year. The response has been wonderful and we will make it a permanent fixture in our calendar of events’.

Throughout the day there was constant stream of visitors who enjoyed live music from local musicians on their arrival, including Blue Jar who played a selection of classical music. In addition a prize draw was held the lucky winner, Ryan Currie walking away with a five hundred Euro voucher from Kimberley Polished Diamonds who were exhibiting at the fair. The organizers said, ‘It was important for everyone to enjoy the day and get some valuable information from the exhibition. Organising a wedding is time consuming and we wanted the fair to eliminate some of that time for the brides who are in the midst of planning their big day. With over 1000 visitors through the door it proved to be a success and it was very pleasing for us because a number of people have already spoken to us and put their names down for the next fair, which we think will be even bigger’.
